You will forever be a part of our history.
See your name among our brightest stars by helping the Arts Centre of Christchurch, Te Matatiki Toi Ora, raise $10 million to restore and reopen our historic Observatory Tower.
A virtual star will be named in your honour for helping us bring stargazing and astronomy education back to the central city.
Once restored, the earthquake-damaged, Gothic Revival tower will be returned to its rightful position as a powerful education tool and magnificent place of discovery and wonder for Cantabrians and visitors of all ages.
The building will also allow a painstakingly restored piece of Christchurch history – the 154-year-old Townsend Teece Telescope – to return to its home in the Townsend Observatory, enabling a new generation of people to unearth secrets of the cosmos from the heart of the city.
Beyond the virtual stars, we will recognise your gift appropriately and ensure you are thanked and remembered.
Major donors will have the opportunity to have naming rights to parts of the Observatory Tower. All donors will be named on our website artscentre.org.nz, in our annual report and on a permanent donors’ board.
We can’t wait to restore this taonga (treasure) for generations to come – please help us on our journey.
Donate to the Observatory Tower restoration, become part of our exciting future and be recognised among our brightest stars.
